StockRank publishes third-party analyst opinions and transparent, historical statistics about them. Nothing on this site is StockRank's own rating, prediction, or recommendation.
Consensus ratings, rating distributions, price targets, and per-firm rating actions (upgrades, downgrades, initiations, reiterations) are sourced from Yahoo Finance and are delayed. Every rating is the published opinion of the named firm at the stated date. We display them verbatim; we do not adjust, weight, or editorialize them.
Rating labels differ across firms ("Overweight", "Outperform", "Accumulate"…). For statistics only, we map each label to a buy / hold / sell equivalence class using a fixed public table. Labels we can't confidently map are excluded from statistics, never guessed.
For every buy-equivalent rating action in our coverage:
Ratings too recent to evaluate (younger than the window) and ratings without sufficient price history are excluded from the denominators. Every statistic is shown with its sample size (n=), and firms enter the leaderboard only with at least 5 evaluated 12-month ratings. Track records are computed at the firm level (analyst-person attribution is not in our source data).
Track records are descriptive history, recomputed nightly and versioned (current: v2). They are not predictions. Past performance does not guarantee future results.
Members of Congress must disclose personal securities transactions under the STOCK Act, within roughly 45 days of the trade. We aggregate those public filings and score them the same way we score analyst firms, with one deliberate difference that most trackers get wrong.
We anchor scoring on the disclosure date, not the transaction date. A retail investor cannot act on a congressional trade until it is filed, so measuring returns from the (earlier) trade date would credit gains nobody following along could have captured. We store and display both dates; the 12-month return and excess vs the S&P 500 are measured from the day the trade became public.
Only buysare scored: a disclosed sale has no long directional bet we can fairly benchmark. Only trades in tickers we price are scored; the rest are still listed, just unscored. Amounts are disclosed as ranges (e.g. "$1,001 - $15,000") and shown as filed. A member enters the leaderboard only with at least 5 scored buys, always shown with the sample size.
Historical statistics from public filings: not predictions, not investment advice, and not affiliated with or endorsed by any member of Congress. Past performance does not guarantee future results.
AI text is generated only from the data shown on the page. Two guardrails run before anything renders: a language check that blocks advice-style phrasing ("buy", "you should"…), and figure verification that rejects any number not present in the source data. Output that fails either check is discarded. AI text is always labeled, and analyst opinions quoted in it belong to the named firms.
Quotes (delayed), fundamentals, earnings dates, insider transactions (SEC filings), and news headlines are sourced from Yahoo Finance and refreshed nightly, with intraday quote refreshes during US market hours. News always links to the original publisher.
