Every week, StockRank screens its ~500-stock US large-cap coverage for the widest gaps between the current price and the average 12-month analyst target, restricted to buy-or-better consensus with at least 20 covering analysts, so one boutique's exuberance can't dominate. Here's the screen as of August 24, 2026.

Data: analyst consensus and price targets via Yahoo Finance (delayed), aggregated by StockRank. Figures move daily: the live screener is the source of truth.
How to read it
A wide gap between a stock's price and its average analyst target can mean two very different things: analyst coverage that is ahead of the market, or targets that simply haven't been refreshed after a decline. The table can't tell you which. The dated rating history on each ticker page can. A gap supported by fresh reiterations and upgrades reads very differently from one where the last action is months old.
Sample size matters too. Within this screen every name has at least 20 covering analysts, but a consensus built on 50 opinions is a stronger statement than one built on 20.
The necessary caveats
Everything above is a descriptive snapshot of third-party analyst opinions (via Yahoo Finance, delayed), aggregated by StockRank. Ratings and price targets are the published views of the named firms, not StockRank's, and historical accuracy does not guarantee future results. Nothing in this article is investment advice or a recommendation. Methodology (windows, benchmark, minimum samples) is published in full here.
